Welcome to the Illinois Physician-In-Training Workforce Survey. As a resident or fellow who will soon be entering the physician workforce, your input is important to better understand physician workforce issues in the state of Illinois. The survey is being administered by the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, and is endorsed by the Illinois Hospital Association (IHA), the Illinois Public Health Institute (IPHI), and the Illinois State Medical Society (ISMS).

The survey is designed to collect data related to your post-residency plans. The survey has the following objectives:

  • Identify future physician supply and demand imbalances
  • Document issues influencing physician choices for where to practice medicine
  • Establish a baseline to monitor future survey results against
  • Increase the awareness of current physician workforce issues in Illinois

Your input will provide valuable information to assist the state in planning its future healthcare delivery systems. Your participation in this survey is voluntary and anonymous. At no point during the survey will you be asked to provide personally identifiable data.
